This off-the-beaten-path hike is perfect for adventurers and families with older children who enjoy natural caves, forest trails, and a bit of wild terrain.

The trail starts at a small parking area by the roadside. Just a few metres from there, on the right bank of the Strīķupīte stream, lies the once longest-known cave in Latvia – the Kalēju Cave. A torch is essential, as part of the cave has collapsed, and exploring inside should be done cautiously.
NB! Bats live in the cave during the winter, so please only visit the cave in the summer!

After visiting the cave, return briefly to the parking spot to join the forest trail. The path continues along the river, where at times it may flood or be muddy, and fallen trees will offer opportunities to test your balance and agility.

The highlight of the trail is the Nebraukšu Cave, beautifully nestled in the riverbank. The return path is wider and easier, leading you through serene forests, ideal for a relaxing stroll back.
