Spriņģu Rock
Spriņģu Rock is an impressive sandstone outcrop, approximately 600 metres long and 21 metres high, located on the left bank of the Gauja River between Līgatne and Skaļupe. As it recedes from the river at both ends, it offers excellent views from the same bank.
In the middle section of the outcrop, there is a 4-metre-deep niche, and at the base, several small springs emerge. Spriņģu Rock is a protected geological and geomorphological natural monument.
You can reach it from Līgatne by following the scenic riverside trail that starts at the Līgatne ferry crossing.
From Skaļupe, the best access is by parking at the Līgatne Rehabilitation Centre and following the marked path.
