Walking route "In the Footsteps of the Hanseatic Traders"
The street layout of Cēsis Old Town has been preserved since the Hanseatic era, when merchants and townsfolk gathered in bustling market squares – some arriving from faraway cities across the trading network.
Today, a stroll along this 2.6 km route offers a journey through more than 800 years of urban charm and architectural heritage. The cobbled streets, medieval façades and timeless atmosphere bring the town’s rich history to life.
