Cecīļi Nature trails
The Cecīļi Nature Trail, located in the heart of Gauja National Park, is constantly evolving—offering visitors new ways to connect with untouched Latvian nature.
This 2 km hiking trail winds through Amata Parish, following the scenic banks of the Kumada River, Dančupīte, and Amata River. Along the route, you’ll discover:
- The wild and narrow Dančupīte Canyon
- A miniature waterfall tucked in the forest
- The impressive Cecīļi Cliff seen from the river’s right bank
- Panoramic views and hidden natural treasures
Marked and easy to follow, the trail is ideal for families, solo explorers, or nature photographers. In summer, hikers can extend their journey across the Amata River toward Līči, exploring part of the Amata Geological Trail along the river’s right bank.
Open All Year Round
Cecīļi Nature Trail welcomes visitors in every season. In autumn and winter, the path transforms into a magical world during “Evenings of Light”, when the trail is beautifully illuminated.
