The Amata Geological Trail follows the scenic Amata River, offering dramatic views of sandstone and dolomite outcrops that are 350–400 million years old. This challenging 15 km circular route features one of Latvia’s most impressive natural landscapes.
The trail begins at the Ainavu Cliff and winds past geological wonders like Zvārtes Rock, with the return journey passing through the grand Kārlis Oak Alley. In autumn, the vibrant foliage and spawning fish in the river make for a truly immersive nature experience.
