Cīrulīši Nature trails
Cīrulīši Nature Trails offer a peaceful green escape right on the edge of Cēsis, perfect for short or long walks through forest paths along the Gauja River.
There are three well-marked, easy-access routes to choose from – 2.7 km, 3.5 km, and 6.2 km in length. Along the way, discover fascinating natural landmarks such as the Spoguļklintis (Mirror Cliffs), Bride’s Cave, and Zvanu Cliffs. Walk as far as the Žagarkalns ski slope and climb the 22-metre-high Green Tower for a stunning view.
The trails are open year-round and free to access.
Start your hike from the Žagarkalns campsite, where free parking is available. In summer, it’s also a great spot for a post-hike picnic, with on-site toilets, a tourism information point, and rental services for bikes and boats.
The trails are ideal for walkers, Nordic walkers, and experienced cyclists. However, the terrain is not suitable for pushchairs.
Dogs are welcome, but in public areas (including parks and nature trails), they must be on a lead and, if necessary, muzzled.
