Lake Ninieris
Located just 3 km from the centre of Cēsis, Ninieris Lake lies in the neutral zone of Gauja National Park, surrounded by peaceful pine forests and untouched landscapes.
The lake covers 12.4 hectares, with an average depth of 1.8 metres and a maximum depth of 6.7 metres. It’s perfect for quiet walks – a trail allows you to circle the lake on foot and observe the diverse shoreline, ranging from sandy beaches to boggy stretches.
The surrounding forest is part of the national park and features century-old trees, berry-filled clearings and rich mushroom-picking spots.
The lakeside offers a designated swimming area with a sandy beach, benches, changing cabins, bins, and toilets, making it ideal for summer relaxation or a family picnic.
