Wooden dishes and bread troughs

At the Woodcraft Museum workshop in Vienkoči Park, master craftsman Rihards Vidzickis creates unique wooden tableware from native deciduous trees—elm, oak, maple, linden, birch, and rowan, among others. Made from fresh wood, the crafting and drying process takes about six months.

The product range includes troughs, bowls, dishes, trays and elongated vessels of various sizes. Except for bread troughs, all pieces are treated with natural propolis lacquer for antibacterial protection, and a blend of beeswax and linseed oil for shine and durability. A charring technique gives the black pieces their deep hue.

Visitors can purchase ready-made items at the Vienkoči Park shop or place custom orders in consultation with the master. They also offer handmade wood care waxes made with beeswax, linseed or olive oil, and propolis.

These wooden vessels are both practical and aesthetic, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and the natural beauty of local materials.
