Route Highlights:
- Start in Āraiši and pass the historic Āzis Tavern on your way toward the main road.
- Observe active quarry work along the roadside – a rare insight into the local economy.
- Follow gravel paths crossing the peaceful Rakšupe River multiple times.
- Turn toward “Saulītes” homestead and enter the forest trail leading to the Rakši Zoo, where you can hand-feed llamas, alpacas, and other exotic animals.
- Discover the vivid Rakstu Cliff, hidden in the nearby woods – a colourful geological feature worth a photo stop.
- Continue on the Mežtaka forest trail to Kārļi, walking through an impressive oak alley.
- Pause at Kārļamuiža Country Hotel, explore the historic orchard and landscaped park.
