Katrīna's Rock
Katrīna Rock, also known as Mermaid’s Rock (Nāru klints), is a striking 200-metre-long and 15-metre-high Devonian sandstone outcrop on the right bank of the River Gauja. At its base, a 4.5-metre-wide, 4-metre-deep niche has been carved by the river’s flow, adding to the cliff’s mystical allure.
Positioned between Jumprava Cliff and Gūdu Cliffs, Katrīna Cliff can be viewed from a nearby rest area on the Līgatne side, on the route to the Līgatne Nature Trails Visitor Centre. This scenic spot is ideal for geology lovers, nature photographers, and hikers exploring Gauja National Park.
