Veselava Manor
The Veselava Manor complex, dating back to the 19th century, features an unusual layout. The manor house is built on a large oval island, completely surrounded by a water-filled moat. Two sturdy stone bridges with carefully crafted limestone arches lead across the moat to the grand entrance courtyard. This design echoes medieval fortified castles where water acted as a key defensive element, highlighting the manor house’s prominence among surrounding buildings.
To the south lies a fruitful orchard, while the north side hosts a park with colourful flower beds, ornamental shrubs, and trees. Beyond the moat’s enclosure, visitors can enjoy views over the smooth waters of the mill pond.
The manor is open to visitors during working hours, with prior arrangements possible for visits outside these times.
Just 1.2 km away, the manor park offers a pleasant walking trail, an open-air stage, and a picnic area — ideal for nature lovers and families.
