Straupe Castle is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Latvia, captivating visitors with its historical charm and mysterious atmosphere. It is located in Straupe – the smallest Hanseatic town in the world. The castle offers the opportunity to walk through ancient corridors, explore the historic hospital rooms, and learn about its fascinating stories. Guided tours are especially recommended, during which history comes alive through engaging facts and humorous tales. For groups of friends and families, the castle offers orientation games and other shared activities.

Next to Lielstraupe Castle is the Straupe Evangelical Lutheran Church – one of the most significant cultural, historical, and spiritual monuments of Straupe. In the Reinhard family’s organic farm, vegetables, herbs, cereals, and summer flowers are carefully cultivated. At the self-service shop located by the A3 highway, it is possible to purchase produce grown on the farm and seasonal seedlings, while, with prior arrangement, one can take a tour and learn about organic farming.

At the Bakery “Rožkalniu maize” in Straupe, real rye bread, sweet and sour bread, white bread, and delicious homemade pastries are made according to ancestral recipes. All products are handmade, without chemical additives or enhancers. Visitors can purchase both bakery products and local craftsmen’s delicacies, as well as, by prior arrangement, enjoy tastings or celebrate special occasions in the cozy premises.

The Swing Park offers an exciting outdoor experience for both adrenaline seekers and those looking for a more tranquil adventure. The park’s main attraction is KINGLINE – a free-flight swing that, at a height of 23 meters above the Brasla River, combines a zip-line descent, free fall, and swinging with a breathtaking view. The park also features traditional swings, swing nets, and relaxation areas, making it an excellent destination for families, groups of friends, and celebrations. A prior reservation is required for the KINGLINE adventure.
