Slow Food Straupe Market

On the first and third Sunday of each month, local farmers, home producers, and artisans gather here to offer goods grown and crafted by their own hands. The market is set in a unique cultural and historical complex – the Straupe Horse Post Station, a place that surprises with its authentic atmosphere and creative spirit of renewal.

The Straupe Farmers’ Market is the only one in the Baltics that is part of the international Slow Food International Earth Markets alliance, and it is officially permitted to operate under its name and logo. This means all products at the market are made in line with the Slow Food philosophy – they are local, seasonal, and high-quality, grown with integrity, in harmony with biodiversity, and with sustainability in mind.

The Earth Market concept supports small-scale producers, who must personally represent their products at the market – whether it’s the farmer, a family member, or someone working directly on the farm.
At Straupe, you’ll experience it all: freshness, heartfelt connections, and the inspiring stories behind every product – straight from the people who make them.
