Set in the heart of Piebalga between Vecpiebalga and Jaunpiebalga, Zelta Krogs offers a gateway to nature’s splendour and rich cultural heritage. Four distinct hiking trails reveal the region’s rolling landscapes, flower-filled meadows, and historical sites—accessible with a donation.

Explore Three Scenic Trails

• Jānēni–Vēveri Hike (20 km)
  A summer revival of the classic Jānēni–Brekti ski route, now extended along the picturesque Brici and Draugoli Lakes to the ethnographic open-air museum “Vēveri”. Expect hilly vistas, wildflower-strewn fields, and beautifully maintained country homesteads.
• Telvieši–Ezernieki Hike (12 km)
  An enchanting and varied route winding through Telvieši Hill (261 m), forest trails near Lake Ezernieki, past Vanagkalns homestead and the E. Dārziņš museum “Jāņaskola”. Return to Zelta Krogs via the Vienziemīte stream.
• Fairy Forest Hike (6 km)
  A favourite among skiers, now perfect for a short walk. Trails meander through woods, cross the Ošupīte stream, pass giant oaks and loop towards the magical Fairy Forest.
